I painted the flag using the same colors but by layering instead of drybrushing and edge highlighting, to get smooth gradients.
Golds - I am not sure about this. I think it was Hashhut Copper, followed by Agrax Earthshade, followed by a layer Gehenna's Gold on all edges and extruding surfaces.
I just noticed that GW has a glossy version of Agrax Earthshade. That should be a better choice than the one I used, which is matte and dulled down the golds a bit too much.
For metals, I believe I used Leadbelcher/Nuln oil/Runefang Steel.
The bases and the rocks I used the same recipe I used for all the races. A base of Eshin Grey, a wash in Nuln Oil, and a strong drybrush in Administratum Grey.
Could you provide the recipe for Ultramarines, please?
ReplyDeleteAnd how do you basecoat the minis?
All black or some armies get white coating?
Hey, sorry for the late reply.
DeleteI basecoat all my minis black, with my Forbidden Stars Eldar being the only exception. I did them in white.
Blues - Macragge Blue, Nuln Oil, drybrush Altdorf Guard Blue, finally edge highlight Teclis Blue.
